Album 1 Roseanna Angel Lawrence

This is the cover for my first album 'Wanderer in the city Landscape'.

With some of these tracks I tried to reflect the changing city scape and elements of urban environments. One track, high rise king, was composed after seeing how many high rise buildings were being built in both London and Manchester, my home town. High-rise King does not meWander in the Cityan that I think that these buildings are all created for the good, simply that they are dominant in many modern city landscapes much more than they were when I was a child, especially luxury high rises not high rises buit after the war as a form of modernism, many of which were badly designed.

Every city has it's own individual personality or character, it has its own stories and tales and it's own defining history. Although all cities share some quailties with crowds, buildings and atmosphere, it's impossible on one album to explore all features.

A city is full of stories of people and tales. If one looks at literature, one can see many stories built up around the urban dweller and the urban environment.

I have attempted to create what I felt was the atmosphere of these cities after walking round them, the perception of each individual is unique, but we all know that at certain times cities can be bustling busy areas, and they can be crowded, in the early hours of the morning, the city changes and becomes quieter and the atmosphere changes at these times as well.

The track 'Architects Skyscraper' came from an article I read about skyscrapers where residents and an architect were interviewed for the development of a very complex skyscraper with a unique design. I saw this track as being full of power and grandness but also haunting.
